| Benzy is autistic. Fortunatly her mother found a way to help her learn. If autistic children have special education, then they may show better results than a 'normal' child. |

Benzy, the autistic child, when she was two years old, she was not able to walk or stands like other children. She would sit in the babysitter for hours and not crawl an inch. The left side of her body was totally stiff. Many times she would fall because of non-movement from hand to shoulders, and there was no middle position for balancing. She was four years old and her parents knew that she would never be like other children. Suddenly it occures to Benzy's Mother, that why not use positive qualities which are still retained in Benzy. She found that her logic part was weak but her rhythmic part was intact i.e. if taught "ABCD" she won't learn; but if taught the same thing with adding some rhythm to it then she learns fast. When she was five, her parents had kept a music teacher to teach Benzy formally Indian classical ragas. At last after two years she started responding. Her voice became clear and louder without any trace of babbling.
There was no looking back since then. By the age of nine, she had given several stage shows and released her audio- cassette named "BASIC RAGAS" in which she has sung 10 ragas without any retake, in one go. Today she has completed her second cassette named ‘KOSHISH’ . For this she has won prestigious National Award from our President of India, Mr Abdul Kalam.
She is featured in "Limca Book of Record for National Record" in music. She was called by our Union Home Minister and Awarded earlier. This indeed is the first time that a small girl like Benzy was given National Award.
These children are rare gift from Almighty, which no one asks for, but if trained properly these children show better results in a particular field than 'normal' child. These are special trained children and can do extraordinary in a particular field, not in all fields. Benzy is among top 12 Lady achievers of India. All this is sighted to show that if Benzy can then why not others?????
There are a few people with autism who possess a photographic memory and a degree of concentration few normal people can ever hope to have. Parents of Benzy using their intuitive skills, persistence and faith in the ability of their children, have uncovered the genius within.

| Benzy the autistic is living near my room. I saw her mothers sacrifices. Her father is now a paralyzed patient. I saw how she is growing day by day. Being a camera person, I always wanted to make a documentary on her and show to the whole world that, Benzy is among the top 12 Lady achievers of India. All this is sighted to show that if Benzy can then why not other????? |
